The story

For about ten years Akbar worked full-time in entertainment as a singer, rapper and actor. He started in the group Adams, then became lead vocalist of Brothers when Yasin Sulaiman went solo, singing on Untukmu Teman and Brothers Reunited. Chedinsphere

With Brothers he toured Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, including one Indonesian concert reported to have drawn 12,000 people. He featured on Too Phat's 2005 single “Perhitung” and later released a solo album, Alpha. Medikom Online

He then left the industry. With his wife he studied Arabic at Ma'had San'a in Yemen, and he now teaches Quran and Arabic full-time while staying close to friends from his years on stage. Medikom Online
